Tubac Arizona
Tubac is where Arizona began. Here, the waters if the Santa Cruz River have beckoned to prehistoric hunters, Native Americans, Spanish explorers and early European settlers. In 1691, Jesuit missionalry Father Francisco Eusebio Kino entered the Santa Cruz Valley to establish missions, build ranches and farms.
In 1752, the Presidio of San Ignacio de Tubac was established as the first European settlement in Arizona. In 1775, Tubac's most famous soldier and explorer Capt. Juan Bautista de Anza II departed ona na exhibition that culminated in the founding of San Francisco.
Today, Tubac has transitioned into a place "where art and history meet". Many world class painters and artists have made Tubac their home and a destination place for the art lovers of the world.
